A nurse is always expected to to guide patient
with love,dedication and humble effort.
Thus a nurse, is expected to meet
all the problems, needs and demands of people.
When the Lord made Nurses He was into his sixth day of overtime.
An angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order?
A nurse has to be able to help an injured person, breathe life into a dying person, and give comfort to a family that has lost their only child and not wrinkle their uniform.....
.So often in today's world we adopt a "you" focus, blaming others for how we are feeling, giving away our accountability, responsibility and personal power. We often act out of habit never considering or reflecting on our actions. The rush and busyness of our lives are often used as an excuse for not taking the time to look inward, for remaining a stranger from the most important person in your life -- You!! You may wonder how it is I came to this perspective, how I get to be offering my thoughts and ideas on how you can improve your life as a whole and as a nurse.
Anger is not the emotion one generally associates with nurses. In fact nurses hold one of the highest public esteems, with nurse's being seen as caring, capable and trustworthy. Nursing however has a lot to do with anger and anger is indeed an emotion many nurses experience whether they are aware of it or not. It needs to be noted that anger is just an emotion and within the 'normal' range of emotions. The issue with nurse's experience of anger however is that it is an emotion that is mismanaged on a number of fronts. This mismanagement ranges from how it is self managed by the nurse, how it is managed by others within the health care team and how it is managed by administrators and professional leaders.
